I am a passionate and empathic psychologist who specialises in working with those of all ages. I value creating a strong therapeutic relationship with my clients, which I believe is supported through my warm, playful and authentic approach.
I also have a passion for nutritional psychology. I value being able to take a holistic approach to our work together, therefore being able to integrate my knowledge of nutrition and its’ influence on one’s mental health. This is why it is so important to me to create a holistic health hub – a space where we offer both psychological support and health coaching, because I am aware of the importance of having a strong foundation of nutrition, exercise, sleep and connection and it’s connection to mental health.
I started my career working in forensic psychology, where I was able to develop my clinical practice within both providing 1:1 sessions and facilitating groups. In 2019, I moved to London where I was fortunate enough to work within the NHS with adolescents, in both community and inpatient settings which I thoroughly enjoyed. As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and wanting to be closer to family, I returned to New Zealand at the conclusion of 2020 and began working in private practice in Auckland where I continued to support adolescents and their families.
At present, I am fortunate enough to be the Resident Psychologist for both PreKure and The PCOS Nutritionist. My work with PreKure also allows me to teach Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) skills to cohorts of Mental Health Coaches in training. I also work with Professor Julia Rucklidge and her wonderful team on the Tai Ora Trial – a research trial assessing whether micronutrient supplementation influences adolescent emotion regulation. I have also appeared on a few podcasts (check these out under ‘Resources’!). I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I have to support individuals to live the life they want to live!
